NYFW- Barcode scanner- the future of the fashion show?

I've been waiting for weeks now for the first fashion week to begin. Whilst trawling through the web to research my dissertation  it's been hard not to notice how technology is now whole-heartedly embraced by the fashion industry (seeing as this is what my entire paper is based on!).

The 'new thing' at NYFW seems to be barcode scanners being used to allocate seats- meaning the all-important seat position can be changed as many times, right up to the last minute before the show. Although, on premise, this idea sounds ideal for the last minute additions to the front row, fashion insiders have already reported problems with getting a seat. So is technology really the way forward- not when angry women in Louboutin heals are involved!

I'll keep you updated as the week continues!
