If you wanted shock value I don't think any show managed to deliver quite as well as Charlie le Mindu's show on Sunday of LFW. All I knew was that he was the 'hair guy' (rather ignorant of me I know!) but I'd never seen a collection of his. Well what a first experience I had of le Mindu's collection, in the flesh, literally!....
Oh and by the way the weird plastic guy was here again..I can't explain how disturbing I find it...very weird....
I did enjoy the movement of the long fur dresses, printed with leopard spots- the movement of these was fluid and a lot more wearable. This element can also be seen in Mark Fast's collection (look at my later post).
Unlike Ann-Sofie Back's rather more thoughtful theme of the 'porn industry' le Mindu chose to honour its more obviously ironic side. This really highlights how differently 2 designers can view a similar inspiration.
And of course the NAKEDNESS...there, I said it....le Mindu broke the 'taboo' and his reward? a whole lot of press and I'm sure just a few magazine editorials will be coming his way..
The only question now is what will he do next season?
